A safe container for your writing practice.
We celebrate diversity of gender, race, and the many communities writers are part of - this retreat is for anyone who wants to write about violence against women and girls.
All our retreat sessions are trauma-informed. We will make every effort to work with this difficult material in a way that is supportive and nourishing, offering tools that will help on the spot to meet difficult emotions that arise as a result of this sensitive work.
We know that many writers working with the topic of violence against women and girls are survivors themselves, or are close to someone who is. Our goal is to help you tell the story you want to tell, to hold space for whatever the sessions bring up, and to ensure that you feel seen and supported. You will have privacy, be in a safe sleeping space, and have support from our team throughout the retreat. Our retreat intake will give you an opportunity to share anything you feel we need to know beforehand. Please feel free to email us with any questions.
Our faculty is here to help facilitate your learning goals and we will walk side-by-side with you as you meet the work on the page and inside you.
At this retreat you will have:
Trauma sensitive mindfulness sessions
Support from Michelle Hazen, our mental health professional

A private room with a locked door and bathroom to retreat to whenever needed.
