  • Jane Houng

    Jane Houng is the founder of Rebecca Dykes Writers and the mother of Rebecca Dykes. Originally from the UK, she is also a children’s book writer based in Hong Kong and holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. In addition to continuing Becky’s legacy of humanitarian work by supporting writers telling stories about trauma and violence against women and girls, she is the founder of Becky’s Button and Becky’s Bathhouse.   • Heather Demetrios

    Heather Demetrios is the program director of Rebecca Dykes Writers. She also serves as faculty for our programs and supports the organization in communications and outreach. Heather is a YA author, holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and is the Executive Director of Clouds in Water Zen Center. She is a certified meditation and mindfulness facilitator with a specialization in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness and she brings this into her work with women writing about trauma. Her YA novel Bad Romance focuses on teen dating violence and she writes extensively about grief and PTSD. Learn more about Heather and her work here.

  • Bethany Walker

    Bethany Walker is our retreat mental health provider and the Discord Moderator for Rebecca Dykes Writers. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma. She serves as faculty on our retreats, supporting writers during and between sessions. Bethany’s award-winning picture book, Lena and the Dragon, explores childhood trauma in a safe and engaging way.   • Yvonne Ventresca

    Yvonne Ventresca manages communications for Rebecca Dykes Writers and is the editor of our newsletter. She is an award-winning children’s writer with several titles under her belt and holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She supports writers at our retreats through her Fireside Chats.
